fail.

Rejected pots. So sad. Sorry little buggers, my fault. Shouldn't have rushed the drying. Shouldn't have rushed the glazing. Should have sieved the glaze one more time. Should have tried to patch that crack.

I think that top left mug with the 2 glazes looks cool!

are any of them salvageable for a 'studio seconds' type sale? list them for 50% off or so. they still sell pretty well, and that way you don't completely lose on them!

If misery loves company you will be happy to hear of my misfortunes in glazing. I have to be the worlds slowest learner, or maybe I am just congenitally incompetent. It often takes repeating the same mistakes 4 or 5 times before I learn my lessons. I have ruined more pots in an electic kiln with bad glazing decisions than I have in a wood kiln at cone 14! Things I think I have figured out will be forgotten over time and before I know it I am back to square one. The gods of pottery misfortune have done a lot of laughing at my expense these days. So chin up! It could be worse. P.S. I love your work and am thankful for your blog. It is nice to know there is such talent nearby (I'm in Athens). Good luck!

very funny, Jerry.

I like that glaze combo too, Caitlin. Too bad it ran all over the kiln shelf and the handle is cracked around the joint!

I think these are, unfortunately, way past "studio second." Maybe fourth or fifth?

Hi Carter! I have a habit of re-learning again and again, too.

What do you do with the rejected product?

I spilled 9oz of Dead Sea Salt on the floor and had to throw it all out. My fault, I was teetering the bowl on the edge of the sink, so smart, I guess I asked for it. 5 second rule did not apply :(
