Michigan bound.

Dinnerware set going to Michigan (well, almost, I still have a few pieces in the kiln...fingers-crossed) There is something soothing about making a dinnerware set. Especially this one, the glaze choice is so subtle and tranquil. And I think it is really great that people appreciate and want handmade objects for everyday use.

Humbled.

I started a soda-firing class last night. The instructor threw a serving bowl in about 1 minute. I'm serious. I looked away, I looked back and he was done.
I've got a long way to go. I think I'm going to learn bunches. I haven't taken a class in years and years. I was really just in it for the soda-firing, but what a sight it was to see a really, really good potter throw.

New Year.

Happy New Year! 2008-its bound to be great!
I'm excited to get going this year. Lots o' plans.
I started the new year by making these juicers. Inspired by some that I found at CostPlus World Market. I can't wait to see them glazed and with their matching juice cups. I love trying new forms, and I think these came out quite nicely (so far...still have to fire and glaze!)
